not_a_number

The input does not look like a phone number

Even after stripping punctuation and vanity letters, what is left is not something a phone can dial: no digits, or characters no plan uses.

Free. Invalid numbers never cost a credit.

What it means

Spaw accepts any common notation: spaces, dashes, dots, brackets, a leading + or 00, tel: links and vanity letters (1-800-FLOWERS). A value that still yields no dialable digits is not a number at all: an email address, a name, placeholder text.

What to do

Reject the input and ask for the number again; nothing further can be learned from it.

Example response

{
    "valid": false,
    "reason": "not_a_number",
    "e164": null,
    "country": null,
    "risk_score": null
}

Abbreviated: a real answer carries all 33 fields, listed in the validate-phone reference.
