What disposable domains are

Disposable (or temporary) email services hand out working inboxes that expire in minutes — no signup, no password. They are perfect for dodging your onboarding: the confirmation email arrives, the trial activates, and the address is dead by the afternoon. Every one that gets through inflates your list with guaranteed-to-bounce addresses and lets one person claim unlimited free trials.

How detection works here

The check runs against an openly licensed, community-maintained aggregate of known burner domains, synced weekly. Matching is subdomain-aware, because burner services generate subdomains freely. What a list can never fully cover is a burner service on a brand-new domain — which is why the full verification API combines this signal with live MX checks and mailbox-level verification instead of trusting any single list.

Frequently asked questions

Are subdomains of disposable services caught?

Yes. Burner services hand out endless subdomains, so detection matches parent domains too: team.mailinator.com is caught by the mailinator.com entry.

How fresh is the disposable list?

It syncs weekly from an open, community-maintained aggregate of tens of thousands of burner domains, and every API response names the exact list version that produced it.

Should I block disposable addresses outright?

Depends on the product. For free trials and anything rate-limited per account, blocking or flagging disposables closes the serial-signup loop. For a newsletter, accepting them and letting them bounce out naturally can be fine — they were never going to convert.

Data synced on 2026-10-12: the newest sync of the open lists and curated maps behind every answer on this page. The domain's own records are read live at each check.

Wrong result, or is it about you? If this tool said something you think is wrong, tell us and a person reads it. If Spaw is holding data about you and you never signed up here — a customer may have had your address verified, or reported that a message to it bounced — erase it yourself, confirmed by mail to that address and with no account needed.
