A business park named after its road is found under either spelling

Companies registered at a business park named after its road are now counted whether an address is written with the park's name or with the road alone, inside the same British postcode: 7 Ferry Road and 7 Ferry Road Office Park in Preston both read 90 companies.

  • Both spellings read the same companies. A business park that takes its road's name — Ferry Road Office Park, Stone Road Business Park, Green Lane Business Park — is filed under the park and under the road, so companies_registered answers the same whichever way the address is written. Measured on the Companies House copy of 1 September 2026: 7 Ferry Road, Preston PR2 2YH read 10 companies and the park spelling 80; both now read 90. 55 Stone Road, Stoke-on-Trent ST4 6SR read 15 and now reads 361, the same as 55 Stone Road Business Park; 6 Green Lane, London SE9 3TL read 2 and now reads 182. Where the count crosses the published threshold of 25, is_mail_drop answers true with mail_drop_source: company_cluster for the road spelling too.
  • Only inside a full postcode. The road spelling is filed only when the address carries a full British postcode, so a park is never merged with a road of the same name elsewhere in a town or a postcode district. The designators read are OFFICE PARK, BUSINESS PARK, BUSINESS CENTRE and BUSINESS VILLAGE, after a name ending in a road word; a park whose name is not a road (Viewpoint Office Village) is still found by its own name.
  • One filing, one count. A filing is counted once, never once per spelling: the district pages' company tally and the cluster threshold see the same number as the lookup.
  • Mailbox operators are not widened. A mail-drop branch listed under a park still flags only that listing; it is not copied onto the road, because an operator's listing answers is_mail_drop on its own, with no threshold between it and the answer.
  • Known limit. A park that numbers its units rather than its buildings can share a count with the same number on its road: at Stamford PE9 2PR, 1 West Street reads 6 companies, 5 of them filed at unit 1 of West Street Business Park. That is below the threshold, so it raises no flag.
