Phone places named from the regulators' tables, prefixes as dialled, and Northern Mariana Islands numbers answered again
Numbers in the Northern Mariana Islands (+1 670) stop answering unassigned_block. The region field drops NANPA's zone and district-area suffixes and three misspellings. GET /v1/phone/block names a North American code after a city only when the data agrees on one, lists the busiest rate centres in a new places key, and reads a prefix written with its trunk 0 or 1 as the stored one. The area-code and country pages follow.
- Northern Mariana Islands numbers stop answering
unassigned_block. NANPA files the islands' +1 670 codes under the state code NN, which the sync read as the United States. A lookup of a Northern Mariana Islands number then found no block of its own in NANPA's table, and because that table lists every assigned code, the number answeredvalid: falsewithunassigned_block. The codes are now filed under MP, so from the first NANPA sync after this release those numbers answer from their own blocks, with the holder ascarrier, and the islands' country page lists +1 670. - Cleaner
regionnames. WhereregiononPOST /api/v1/phonefalls back to the number's NANPA rate centre, the name no longer carries NANPA's billing zones and district areas: "New York City Zone 01, NY" reads "New York City, NY" and "Los Angeles DA 06, CA" reads "Los Angeles, CA", and names are cased properly (Fremont-Newark, McKinney, La Grange). A number in one of Washington, DC's zones in Maryland or Virginia now answers what the numbering metadata says, such as "Maryland", not "Washington Zone 03, MD". Three misspellings in the numbering metadata are corrected wherever a place is shown: "Chtamstths, VI" reads "Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas), VI", "British Colombia" reads "British Columbia" and "Lódź" reads "Łódź". - A North American
placethe data agrees on, and a newplaceslist.GET /api/v1/phone/blocknames a North American area code after a city only when most of its sample numbers are geocoded to that city and a rate centre agrees, or when one rate centre holds half or more of the allocated blocks. Otherwiseplaceis the state, province or territory ("Montana"; "Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island"), where it used to be whichever town the samples happened to name. The newplacesarray lists up to three rate centres (NANPA) or exchange areas (CNAC) holding the most allocated blocks, filled only whenplacenames a state, province or territory and empty everywhere else. Both describe where the regulator recorded the codes, not where subscribers are. - Prefixes as people dial them.
GET /api/v1/phone/blockaccepts a prefix written with its trunk prefix, the 0 of the UK, France, the Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand or the North American 1:gb/020,gb/0161andus/1212answer the report ofgb/20,gb/161andus/212, with that storedprefix, its charge and its repeat marker. Italian, Polish and Mexican prefixes keep their leading digits. A miss on such a form names both spellings. - The area-code and country pages. Area-code pages lead with the number as dialled inside the country, name mobile, freephone and premium-rate ranges by type instead of "area code", and say "area code" only where the prefix is the plan's own area code: Sydney's 029 sits inside the 02 area, so its page reads "029 numbers". They sit under their country in a breadcrumb and are dated by the tables they cite, never by the day they were rendered, and their structured date is the day what the page shows last changed, the same date the sitemap gives. They no longer name Polish and Dutch holders listed without a legal form, such as sole traders, Polish partnerships whose names carry their partners' names, or the holders of single Dutch numbers, which the API's block report still returns; the holder table's last row adds up the rest of the regulator's table, the smaller holders included, and no network is credited with blocks the page does not attribute to it.
/gb/020,/us/787(Puerto Rico's page), the Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy pages and a bare/tools/phone-number-lookup/usredirect to their canonical pages. Country pages list every area code with a page instead of the first 24, grouped by state, province or code length, and Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man say their numbers sit in the UK +44 plan and are answered from Ofcom's table. - Also. The phone product page, the phone guide and API reference, the OpenAPI document, the MCP tools, the SDKs, the integrations, the phone comparison pages and the phone guides now state the live carrier-network check's status in one sentence: it is not enabled on the service,
hlr_checkedanswers false and nothing extra is charged. The status page calls the UK numbering table stale after ten days without a new copy instead of thirty, and addresses left over from the domain's previous owner answer 410 Gone.
